An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale hit Jammu and Kashmir's Katra on Saturday morning.

The earthquake occurred at around 9 am. The depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 27-08-2022, 09:06:43 IST, Lat: 33.10 & Long: 75.57, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: 60km ENE of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir," the NCS tweeted.

Tremors were also felt in the Doda and Kishtwar districts of J&K. Both districts have been witnessing tremors on a daily basis for the last 4 days.
Earlier on Friday, an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude on the Richter scale was again witnessed in the Katra region.
