Anek box office collection Day 3: Ayushmann Khurrana's film sees further drop on Sunday

Ayushmann Khurrana's film, Anek is not doing great business at the box office. The film was released on May 27.
Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Anek has shown a poor start at the box office in its opening weekend. The film failed to pull the audience to the theaters, and on its opening day, it managed to collect just Rs 1.75 crore. The film, which highlights the insurgency in North-East India and the need for a unified India, has been directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks. After collecting Rs 4 crore on Saturday, May 28, Anek saw a further drop in collections on Sunday, May 29.
Anek opened to mixed reviews at the box office. According to early trade reports, the film has collected in the range of Rs 1.95 crore to 2.15 crore on Sunday. Hence, the opening weekend total collection would now stand at Rs 6.50 crore. These are extremely low numbers for an Ayushmann Khurran film. It could also mean that the lifetime collections of Anek would be lower than Rs 15 crore. Anek was on par Sunday until 7 pm and then the drop came in the post 7 pm shows.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Andrea Kevichusa in the lead role, Anek is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks. The film has been shot in Northeast India. Ayushmann said that Anek will "usher in a different language of cinema." Anek marks the second collaboration between Ayushmann and director Anubhav after the 2019 film Article 15.
