Andrew Brown is the new host of CBC Radio's London Morning

Andrew Brown has been pretty vocal that talking to people and making connections is what he loves more than anything. And when you hear his booming pipes starting Monday on London Morning, you'll know he's serious.
As he's said repeatedly, he can't wait to turn on the microphone get going!
"It's such a privilege to start every weekday morning with the people that make our little corner of southwestern Ontario unique," said Brown, who has been named the new host of London's No. 1 rated morning program.
He joins the team after working for more than 13 years in various roles at the CBC, starting as a reporter and video journalist in St. John's and Labrador City, NL. He then moved to Calgary where he was a reporter and host of news and current affairs shows on both radio and television.
"I'm already having such a great time exploring London. It's one of the fastest growing cities in Ontario, and that comes with challenges but also great discoveries. This is the perfect place for a journalist," Brown said.
He wants the show to focus on the biggest issues facing Londoners today, from the daily cost of living, to homelessness and the opioid crisis, to the soaring price of rent. He also looks forward to welcoming Londoners into the downtown studio to tell their stories of success.
And don't be surprised if there's a lot of spontaneity on the show. Brown has a reputation for fun and quick quips, including this moment that caught the attention of a television station in the U.S. and went viral.

Erin Noel, managing editor for Ontario Regions, welcomed Brown to the team.
"We are thrilled to welcome Andrew with his blend of strong journalism, easy conversational style and engaging on-air presence," Noel said in a statement. "His desire to get out into the community will ensure London Morning keeps its finger on the pulse of what's important to Londoners."
As he is new to the London area, Brown wants to meet as many residents as possible and discover the hidden gems that make the city feel like home.
