Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted a high-level review of the Simhachalam incident at his residence in Undavalli near Vijayawada, on Tuesday (April 29, 2025.)
Top officials, including the Director General of Police and other senior bureaucrats, attended the meeting and provided a detailed account of the sequence of events and the relief measures extended to the victims.
Taking serious note of the incident, the Chief Minister ordered the formation of a three-member committee comprising senior IAS and IPS officers to conduct a thorough investigation. The Committee includes Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar, EAGLE Chief A.K. Ravikrishna, and Chief Engineer of the Irrigation Department Venkateshwar Rao.
The Chief Minister directed the committee to submit a preliminary report within 72 hours, emphasising the need for a swift and transparent inquiry. The government’s response underscores its commitment to accountability and timely action in addressing the concerns arising from the incident.
