Andhra CM lays foundation stone for 14 new medical colleges

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday laid the foundation stone for the construction of 14 new medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh from the Tadepalli camp office.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday laid the foundation stone for 14 new teaching medical colleges across the state. With this, the state Government is going to increase the number of colleges in the state by a whopping 150 per cent. The new colleges will come up in: Pulivendula, Paderu, Machilipatnam, Vizainagaram, Anakapalli, Rajahmundry, Amalapuram, Palakollu, Eluru, Bapatla, Markapuram, Madanapalli, Penukona, Nandyal and Adoni. Rs 7880 crore has been allotted for the same.Apart from this, the state government is also investing a total of over Rs 16,000 crore in revamping the health infratructure in the state.The chief minister has decided to also encourage the private sector by offering free land to anybody who is ready to build a speciality/super speciality hospital with an investment of at least Rs 100 crore in the next three years.
