
Amravati murder: How 7 people conspired to kill Umesh Kolhe over post on Nupur Sharma

Seven people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Umesh Kolhe in Amravati. Umesh Kolhe was stabbed to death over a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma.
A chemist in eastern Maharashtra's Amravati city was murdered last month over a social media post in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Umesh Prahladrao Kolhe was stabbed to death in Amravati on June 21. The police arrested seven people in connection with the case.
The seventh accused, and the alleged master-mind in the murder, was arrested last week in connection with Kolhe's killing. The arrested accused include Irfan Khan (32), the alleged master-mind behind the murder, along with Mudassar Ahmed alias Sonu Raza Sheikh Ibrahim (22), Shahrukh Pathan alias Badshasha Hidayat Khan (25), Abdul Taufik alias Nanu Sheikh Taslim (24), Shoeb Khan alias Bhurya Sabir Khan (22), Atib Rashid Aadil Rashid (22) and Yusuf Khan Bahadur Khan (44).

Here’s a look at how the seven accused hatched the gruesome murder:
-After a WhatsApp status supporting Nupur Sharma was posted by Umesh Kolhe in a WhatsApp group “Black Freedom”, Yusuf Khan took a screenshot and started spreading it to other groups, including “Rahbariya” and to few other people.
-Seven people, including Yusuf Khan, started conspiring to take revenge on Umesh Kolhe.
-On June 19, a meeting took place between Aatib, Shoaib and Irfan Sheikh. The accused decided to kill Umesh Kolhe next day.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
