
Amit Shah on Myanmar crisis: India can provide food, medicine but won't encourage infiltration

Speaking in an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Amit Shah said India is ready to provide food and medicines to the people of Myanmar but can't encourage infiltration.
The Indian government is ready to help the people of Myanmar with ration and medical supplies but won't encourage illegal infiltration into the country, said Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday. Speaking about the situation in Myanmar in an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Amit Shah said there is a limit to what India can do "because there is a boundary" between the two countries. "We want to help everyone. If they [people of Myanmar] want ration or medical supplies, the Indian government can set up camps and help them. But we can't encourage illegal infiltration into India from Myanmar," Amit Shah said.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
