There are six cases against Mohammed Zubair in Uttar Pradesh. He was granted bail in the case against him filed with the Delhi Police.
AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair was granted bail today by a Delhi court in connection with his arrest by the police in the national capital. However, he will continue to remain in jail over the two cases lodged against him by the Uttar Pradesh Police - one in Hathras and the other in Lakhimpur Kheri.
In all, there are six FIRs against him in the state:
Zubair has been accused of outraging religious sentiments when he called three controversial right-wing leaders the 'spreaders of hatred'. He has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in this case.
According to the FIR, Zubair had misrepresented a news story through his tweet with the intention of instigating enmity. He is in judicial custody in this case till July 25.
There are two cases against Mohammed Zubair in this UP city. In one, he has been accused of promoting enmity between two religious groups and remanded to judicial custody till July 27.
