Alluri Sitharama Raju district plans 'Araku Utsav' tourism festival with cultural events, marathons, and tribal products stalls.
The Alluri Sitharama Raju district administration is planning big for the three-day tourism festival ‘Araku Utsav’, tentatively scheduled from January 31.
The authorities have named the annual event as ‘Chali’ meaning ‘cold’ and as part of the Utsav, the authorities are mulling to bring tribal artistes, folk dancers from Odisha, Manipur, Telangana, Pondicherry and a few other States for the cultural events to be organised and make it a grand success.
As per the Utsav, the officials are planning to organise a marathon, carnival, a cycling event involving professionals from Borra Caves to Araku Valley, huge plantation programme and a few others. The authorities are going to finalise a venue in the valley and set up a huge stage for the programme. A wide variety of stalls showcasing tribal products, Van Dhan Vikas Kendras and Araku Coffee are going to be set up.
District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar has asked the officials to create a blog and promos about the festival and upload the list of events as part of it. He directed the officials to arrange food courts, amusement arena, tribal fashion show, yoga events apart from adventure sports activities like hot air balloon and paragliding. He also directed the officials to ensure proper amenities at the tourist spots and ensure people do not face any inconvenience.
