The "Late Show" host mocked the first lady over the release of her documentary.
“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert ripped Amazon founder Jeff Bezos for his company spending $75 million to produce, distribute and market “Melania,” the new documentary about first lady Melania Trump.
“Now, obviously, he’s one of the richest men in the world. That’s chump change to Bezos himself,” Colbert said. “But it might have helped the 16,000 people that Amazon announced they were firing yesterday.”
The company announced the layoffs earlier this week, which The New York Times reported was meant to “trim bureaucracy and free up money for plans to spend heavily on artificial intelligence.”
But as Amazon workers lose their jobs, the company is spending millions to promote the movie ― and the first lady herself has been doing interviews with friendly right-wing media outlets.
“What I wanted to do is to put the product, film, into the theaters,” the first lady told Fox Business.
Barron Trump’s intervention more than a year ago resulted in an assault conviction of Matvei Rumiantsev on Wednesday, who admitted he was jealous of his girlfriend's friendship with the president’s youngest son.
“I can’t stay silent and neither should you,” the '80s teen icon said in a scathing video.
The "Tonight Show" host even pulled in the Vatican for his punch line.
The late night host torched a key claim the president frequently makes.
"It feels real now," he said.
Amazon reportedly spent $40 million on "Melania: Twenty Days to History" and another $35 million to promote it, raising eyebrows before reviews even arrive.
“Her generation gives me hope,” the lifestyle icon said.
"I’m sending you all my love and gratitude during this extraordinarily difficult time. Not only for Tim, me and our family, but in the collective heaviness so many of us seem to be carrying right now," she said on Instagram.
The rock legend didn't pull any punches — just his music.
