You’re not totally buggin — a series based on the ’90s classic film “Clueless” is in the works, and Alicia Silverstone is sharing her role in it.
Thirty years ago, people remember “rollin’ with the homies” in Beverly Hills thanks to the iconic Cher Horowitz and her well-to-do entourage. Now, during a Thursday appearance on “Today,” Silverstone spoke about the voyage back to the West Coast.
“I’m really excited about it,” she said. “We’re going to try really hard… the goal is to make it honor what everyone loves about ‘Clueless,’ [and] Cher. We want to honor that.”
Silverstone shared that the project is currently in “baby stages” but promises the production will bring something “fresh and new” to the characters many have held close to their hearts since 1995. She also revealed that she is the project’s executive producer.
In a separate interview on “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” she reflected on the film’s long-lasting legacy and its unexpected journey into a “cultural phenomenon.”
