Former Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK leader Edappadi Palaniswami called for statewide protests against the ruling DMK government. The protests were organised because of the increase in property tax, EB tariff and the DMK not fulfilling its poll promises.
The opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in Tamil Nadu has organised statewide protests against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for not fulfilling its poll promises.
The protest was called by former CM and AIADMK senior leader, Edappadi K Palaniswami. He condemned the DMK government for increasing property taxes, the proposed increase of EB tariffs and not fulfilling poll promises.
In Madurai, the protest was led by newly appointed deputy opposition leader RB Udhayakumar, near the Jayalalitha temple.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
