After wife ‘elopes’, Gurugram man poisons son to death, tries to kill self

Rajesh Mittal, a resident of Gurugram, tried to kill himself after poisoning his son. He is said to be upset over his wife’s elopement with a man.

Upset with his wife eloping, a man poisoned his son and tried to kill himself in Haryana’s Gurugram. Identified as Rajesh Mittal, 35, poisoned his four-year-old son, who died. Mittal later attempted suicide. Police said that Mittal was undergoing treatment at a hospital and was in critical condition.

News agency PTI reported that Mittal poisoned his younger son, Bharat, while his elder son, Mohit, wasn’t home on Wednesday. He then consumed poison to kill himself.
