
After losing mother to Covid-19, woman runs Oxygen Auto to assist patients

Heartbroken Seetha knew that her mother died due to shortage of oxygen. It is at this point Seetha decided that the only way to commemorate her mother's memory would be to provide some assistance to Covid-19 patients, who require oxygen support.
At the peak of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, India saw an unprecedented demand for medical oxygen. Scores of patients were gasping for breath and those attending them were running from pillar to post to get an oxygen cylinder. Covid-19 situation was not much different in Tamil Nadu, where Chennai resident Seetha Devi lost her mother due to oxygen shortage on May 1. She had Covid-19. Around 8 pm on April 30, 65-year-old Vijaya was rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai after her oxygen levels dropped dangerously. She was accompanied by her daughter Seetha Devi.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
