Singer Stebin Ben speaks about the things organisers should take care of during gigs for musicians. Stebin puts forth his opinion after KK's death.

The way organisers held KK's gig in Kolkata at Nazrul Mancha auditorium has raised eyebrows. After KK passed away on May 31, videos and photos of him sweating profusely at the concert surfaced on social media. KK also complained of heat during the event, an eye witness told IndiaToday.in. The AC at the auditorium stopped working after a while and KK did tell the organisers to switch it on. The audi, which has the capacity to accommodate 2,500 people, was packed with 5000 people.

This incident raises an important question about the basic needs that organisers should take care of for an artist during gigs. Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, singer Stebin Ben mentioned that the organisers should ensure an artist's comfort during the gigs.

Stebin Ben started off by saying that the organisers should take care of a lot of things. "First, the comfort of an artist is very important. A singer performs for 2 hours, which is not a small thing. Because for 2 hours, you are performing and not even taking breaks. So, the organisers should make sure that all the artists are taking water and ensure that they have eaten well. All the facilities should be provided for them where they are performing. If it is too hot out there, there should be a fan to just cool down the artists," said Stebin.

He further added, "Because what happens is, on the stage, it is an activity where you are jumping and performing. And when you are performing, aapka pura energy uspe hota hain. It is difficult for any other person to understand what a singer has to go through when he is performing. These things should be considered."

Stebin also opined that artists should get a rest before they perform on the stage. "I think the organisers should see the timings also. Artist ko time pe bulake, an artist should get rest before the show. And during the show, there should be a doctor around if it is a big concert. If these things can be taken care of, an artist's life is going to be easy. Singers ka life easy hojayega. Right now, security is also very important. When an artist is performing, there could be people who want to harm the artist. People love artists, but there can be some people doing wrong to the artists. They (organisers) should take care of the security also, so that an artist feels comfortable when he is going to sing his heart out to the people," Ben said, and signed off.
