After Gurugram residents complain of waterlogging, civic body issues helpline number

Gurugram residents had to struggle their way through waterlogged roads soon after rains lashed the city. Meanwhile, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has issued a helpline number where residents can register their complaints regarding waterlogging issues in their areas.

Normal life was thrown out of gear after torrential rainfall and thunderstorms that swept Gurugram two days ago, led to waterlogging in several parts of the city.

Though rains accompanied by strong winds brought a much-needed relief from scorching heat, commuters were stuck amidst knee-high water with motorists struggling to cross the inundated areas, further causing traffic jams.

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has issued a helpline number where residents can register their complaints regarding waterlogging issues in their areas.

Sudden downpour in the city led to waterlogging in several areas, raising questions on the pre-monsoon preparedness claims of the Gurugram Municipal Corporation and (GMDA). The worst-affected areas were Narsinghpur area, Jharsa Crossing, Sectors 29, 38, 50 and 52, Rajeev Chowk, Civil Lines, Golf Course Extension Road, Vatika Chowk and Daultabad Flyover.

Besides, waterlogging was also reported in all the underpasses of Gurugram. Meanwhile, GMDA claimed that extra pumps have been installed to pump out water from inundated areas.

Hero Honda Chowk, Signature Tower, IFFCO Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Golf Course Extension Road, Sector 15, Sector-10, Palam Vihar, Udyog Vihar, Sector 37 are some of the selected points in Gurugram where the problem of waterlogging is witnessed every year.
