
After 75-year-long wait, river island in Odisha’s Sambalpur gets access to banking services

After being deprived of banking services for 75 years, Kud Gunderpur river island in Odisha’s Sambalpur has finally gained access to a bank. A customer service point of Utkal Grameen Bank has been opened in the village.
After being deprived of banking services for 75 years since Independence, Kud Gunderpur river island in Odisha’s Sambalpur district has finally gained access to the same. A customer service point (CSP) of Utkal Grameen Bank has been opened by the state government-run project Odisha Livelihood Mission with the support of Sambalpur’s district administration. A business correspondent has been appointed for the functioning of the CSP.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
