
Actor Ranveer Singh to be summoned by Mumbai Police over nudes

Actor Ranveer Singh is set to be summoned by Mumbai Police over his nude photoshoot.
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh will be asked to appear before the Mumbai Police on August 22 in a case of “hurting sentiments of women” after the pictures from his nude photoshoot went viral on social media. Since the actor is out of town, the Chembur Police will serve him a notice on August 16.
Ranveer Singh hasn't been summoned yet but, once the actor arrives in Mumbai, he will be served the notice asking to appear before the police on August 22.
Ranveer Singh has been booked under sections 509, 292, and 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 67 A of the IT Act.

A complaint was filed at the Chembur police station, over his nudes, by an office-bearer of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), also based in the east Mumbai suburb, and a woman lawyer.
The NGO office-bearer stated the actor had hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty through his photographs. The application filed by the lawyer also demanded a case against Ranveer Singh on the charge of intent to outrage the modesty of women.
Ranveer Singh was photographed in the nude by PAPER magazine. In the pictures, the actor has stripped down to nothing, as he poses on a Turkish rug. His photoshoot was inspired by Burt Reynolds, who did a similar nude shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
