Mr. Krishna Murali supported the YSRCP before the 2024 elections and was vocal in criticising then Opposition leader and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena Party president K. Pawan Kalyan.
After the NDA came to power, Mr. Krishna Murali announced his retirement from politics and has been living in Hyderabad.
Several cases were filed against Mr. Krishna Murali by the NDA leaders across the State. A case was registered against him at Obulavaripalle police station in Annamayya district.
On Wednesday night, the police reached Mr. Krishna Murali’s residence in Hyderabad and shifted him to Rajampet.
Mr. Krishna Murali reportedly told the police that he was unwell and undergoing treatment. The police, however, handed over a notice informing his arrest to the family members and shifted him.
He was booked under Section 196, 353 (2) and 111 read with 3 (5) of the BNS Act which are cognizable and non-bailable in nature, the police said.
