Aaditya Thackeray’s ‘dead party’ jab at uncle Raj over letter to Uddhav Thackeray

Aaditya Thackeray’s ‘dead party’ jab at uncle Raj over letter to Uddhav Thackeray

The MNS chief Raj Thackeray's nephew Aaditya Thackeray, has criticised his uncle and asked the former to "talk development and not politics” after Raj Thackeray sent a scathing letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the loudspeaker row in the state.

Aaditya Thackeray has prodded his uncle and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief, Raj Thackeray, to “talk development and not politics” after Raj Thackeray sent a scathing letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the ensuing row over loudspeakers at mosques.

“I don't speak on political parties which are dead,” Raj Thackeray’s nephew shot back as the MNS chief slammed his cousin Uddhav over coercive action against his party workers. Raj Thackeray, in his letter, had cautioned the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government in the state that power is not permanent.

Apart from Aditya Thackeray, state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has also reacted to Raj Thackarey's remark over the alleged misuse of police force against MNS workers. The police are doing their job and Raj Thakcarey should guide them in arresting culprits who are breaking the rule of land, Patil said.

Another Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Minister, Anil Parab, in an apparent jibe at the MNS Chief, said that the opposition always has to face such actions and that even they (Shiv Sena) were dragged out of their homes when they were in the opposition. “No one is above law,” Parab said.

However, Devendra Fadnavis, the leader of the Opposition, advised Raj Thackarey to not have any naive expectations from the MVA government. “He shouldn't expect much from a government which puts people behind bars on charges of sedition for reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. We are fighting against them, Raj should fight too,” Fadnavis said.

Raj Thackarey, in a letter this evening, accused the Maharashtra government of harassing nearly 24,000 MNS workers by sending preventive notices and detaining them. Earlier at a rally in Aurangabad, he had given an ultimatum to the MVA government to remove loudspeakers from mosques, which if not done would prompt MNS to play the Hanuman Chalisa in front of mosques to counter the azaan.
