92-year-old prisoner tied to bed in UP hospital

A 92-year-old prisoner, suffering difficulty breathing, was tied to a hospital bed in UP's Etah district.

In an inhumane act, a 92-year-old man was tied to his hospital bed in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district. The elderly, a jail inmate, was brought to the District Women's Hospital by the prison authorities as he was suffering from shortness of breath due to a non-Covid ailment. As soon as the matter came to light, DG Jail Anand Kumar suspended Ashok Yadav, the warden of the jail where the elderly is serving his sentence. The superintendent of the Etah jail also directed the hospital authorities to immediately remove the chain tying the elderly to the bed.
