
8 bids from Sputnik, Pfizer facilitators for Mumbai vaccine tender so far, claims BMC

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the civic body has received eight bids for the global tenders it had floated for the procurement of Covid vaccines for Mumbai.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Chahal has said that the civic body has received eight bids for the global tenders it had floated for the procurement of Covid vaccines for Mumbai. Of these, seven are for providing the Sputnik vaccine while one is for Pfizer. Neither Pfizer nor any of its affiliates globally, including in India, have authorized anyone to import/market/distribute Pfizer-BioNTech COVID 19 vaccine. We continue to have discussions with GoI towards making our vaccine available for use nationally: Pfizer Spokesperson pic.twitter.com/Udh1nwj7go All these bids reportedly are not by the pharmaceutical companies themselves but by facilitators who have claimed that they can supply 1 crore vaccines for Mumbai in 60 days. In fact, one of the bidders has even expressed that he can start the supply of the Sputnik vaccine as early as June 9.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
