8 bids from Sputnik, Pfizer facilitators for Mumbai vaccine tender so far, claims BMC

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the civic body has received eight bids for the global tenders it had floated for the procurement of Covid vaccines for Mumbai.

Of these, seven are for providing the Sputnik vaccine while one is for Pfizer. Neither Pfizer nor any of its affiliates globally, including in India, have authorized anyone to import/market/distribute Pfizer-BioNTech COVID 19 vaccine. In fact, one of the bidders has even expressed that he can start the supply of the Sputnik vaccine as early as June 9.
