55% OBC posts lying vacant in central universities: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Around 55 per cent of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) posts in central universities across the country are lying vacant.  

Over 55 per cent of the sanctioned posts for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and around 42 per cent of the posts for Scheduled Castes (SCs) in central universities across the country are lying vacant. As per the data shared by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the Lok Sabha on April 1, 2,389 posts for SCs, 1,199 posts for Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 4,251 posts for OBCs are vacant across 45 central universities.
