5 tourists, driver killed in Sikkim as car falls into 500-feet-deep valley

Five tourists and their driver died after their car crashed into a 500-foot-deep valley in Sikkim on Sunday.
Five tourists, including three children, from Maharashtra and their local driver died after their car fell 500 feet down into a valley in north Sikkim last night. According to the police, they were on their way back to Gangtok around 8 pm when the accident happened.
The police, the Army and the local administration began rescue works last night but had to wait till morning. The wreckage of the vehicle and the bodies were recovered today from a slope 13 kilometres from Lachung.
The Lachung Police has initiated further proceedings.
The tourists have been identified as Suresh Punamiya, Toral Punamiya, Devanshi Punamiya, Hiral Punamiya and Jayam Parmar and the driver has been identified as Somi Biswakarmathe.
