
4 PFI members arrested from Uttar Pradesh, pen drives with IS videos recovered

ATS officials received information that PFI and other Muslim organisations were involved in anti-national activities and were conspiring to turn India into ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ by 2047.
The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) arrested four members of PFI from Shamli,Ghaziabad and Muzaffarnagar and Meerut on Saturday. The officials also recovered literature pertaining to 'Ghazwa-e-Hindi' and videos related to IS and Kashmiri Mujaheed were found in pen drives recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
The accused have been identified as Shadab Aziz Qasmi, Mufti Shahzada,Maulana Sajid and Islam Qasmi. ATS officials received information that PFI and other Muslim organisations were involved in anti-national activities and were conspiring to turn India into ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ by 2047.
The accused had an aim to implement Shariat by 2047 and their influence was seen in anti-CAA and NRC protests. The accused said they visited camps in Manjiri, Kerala and took training in PFI camps in Judo, Karate and arms.
A case under Section- 120B, 121A, 153A, 295A, 109, 505(2) IMD and Section 13(1) (B) Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been registered at the Police Station Kharkhoda in Meerut.

One of the accused, Mohammad Shadab Aziz Qasmi, was the General Secretary of the Western Uttar Pradesh Wing of SDPI. The UP ATS recovered seven document files, 11 videos, 179 inflammatory pictures from the pen drive and literature related to the Islamic state (IS) were also found.
Meanwhile, the largest-ever crackdown that was conducted against the Popular Front of India (PFI) members spread across 15 states was code-named "Operation Octopus", government sources told India Today.
