Four coaches of the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul train were in Odisha’s Jeypore. There were no injuries since the train’s trollies had derailed onto the sleepers. Alternate transport arrangements have been made for the stranded passengers.
Four coaches of the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul special passenger train were derailed in Odisha’s Jeypore area on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger special train bearing the number 08551 derailed between Jeypore and Chatriput stations. After passing Jeypore station, a sleeper class and three general coaches got derailed.
There were no casualties or injuries since the trollies of the train were derailed onto the sleepers, said East coast railway officials. Meanwhile, accident relief trains were rushed to the site to immediately restore operations.
Divisional railway manager, Anup Satpathy, Additional divisional railway manager, Infra, Sudhir Kumar Gupta, ADRM, operations, Manoj Kumar Sahoo and other officers are monitoring the relief operations.
Alternate transport arrangements were also made for the stranded passengers.
