27 new COVID-19 cases in London area Thursday, no deaths

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) is reporting 27 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths on Thursday.
There were 19 recoveries posted by the health unit, with 168 active cases in Middlesex-London.
The seven-day rolling average for daily cases is up to 18.
London Health Sciences Centre is reporting 18 patients being treated for COVID-related illnesses at local hospitals on Thursday, down four from the previous day. There are eight adult patients in critical care and five or fewer with COVID-19 in the Children's Hospital and five or fewer patients in pediatric critical care, according to the hospital network.
Five or fewer staff members have tested positive for the virus and are isolating.
Southwestern Public Health reported 29 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death on Thursday. There are 169 active cases in Elgin-Oxford, including 54 in St. Thomas, 29 in Woodstock, 25 in Tillsonburg and 14 in Aylmer. Eight patients remain in hospital with the virus, including five in critical care.
Huron Perth Public Health posted eight new cases of COVID-19, with 64 ongoing infections in the region.
Meanwhile, Ontario reports 959 new COVID-19 cases across the province, a 28 per cent jump from the same time last week.
According to Ontario's COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, cases are on track to double every three and a half weeks. The seven-day rolling average for daily cases across Ontario is up to 851.
