26 students of Telangana hostel suffer from food poisoning

Authorities suspect a lizard may have fallen into the sambhar that was served to the children in their meals.

More than 26 students were hospitalised after they allegedly suffered from food poisoning at Vardhannapet ST hostel in Warangal district of Telangana.

Hostel authorities suspect a lizard may have fallen in the sambhar that was served to the children in their meals, after which they fell ill.

The students were rushed to Vardhannapet government hospital. The condition of 12 students is said to be critical and they have been moved to MGM hospital for better treatment.

Vardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh reached MGM hospital and enquired about the incident. Aroori said a thorough investigation has been ordered into the incident.
