BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty reiterated that 21 MLAs of the ruling TMC are ‘in direct touch’ with him.
BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty once again claimed that 21 MLAs of the ruling Trinamool Congress are ‘in direct touch’ with him. Addressing a press conference at BJP office in Kolkata, Mithun Chakraborty said, “21 TMC MLAs are still in touch with me, I said this earlier and again I am saying, I stand by my point. Just wait for the time”.
The actor-turned-politician added that he is aware that there are objections within the party on taking Trinamool leaders.
“I know there are objections in the party, many have said we will not take rotten potatoes. I have said I am not that full and will not repeat the same mistake”, he added.

On Saturday, ahead of Durga Puja, Mithun Chakraborty was in the city to hold a meeting with the BJP leaders. During an interaction with media persons, he was questioned if the number of willing TMC MLAs has increased. Chakraborty said, “I won’t tell you the exact number, but can say the number is no less than 21”.
Mithun Chakraborty also commented on the recent statement of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on "misuse" of CBI and ED. Mamata Banerjee had said that she doesn't think that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is behind the "misuse" of central agencies.
When asked about the West Bengal CM's remark, Mithun Chakraborty replied, “Yes, I think she is right. Really, the PM is not doing this; the court has given the decision. What can we do? You (Mamata Banerjee) have to explain what BJP Bengal brigade has done wrong with you. I did say this earlier also, if you have not done anything wrong, if you are clean, can go home and sleep peacefully, nothing will happen. But if there is any evidence, even the Prime minister or President cannot save you”.
