A video of the incident went viral on social media, leading to the arrest of five people. According to a report by The Times of India, the police jumped into action on the basis of the viral video on Friday.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
