Two people were killed while six others suffered injuries after a speeding dumper rammed into a pickup truck in the Thana Friends Colony area of Etawah district on National Highway 2.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday when the pick-up truck carrying passengers from Delhi was going towards Kanpur.
It was when the truck reached Thana Friends Colony area of Etawah district that a speeding dumper rammed into it, leaving passengers severely injured.
According to the locals, upon receiving information about the accident, police reached the spot and took the injured to the district hospital where two people were declared dead and six others seriously injured were referred to Saifai Trauma Centre.
Among the eyewitnesses, Baba Ramlakhan said the pickup truck was going from Delhi towards Kanpur. It was on the highway near New Mandi that a speeding dumper rammed into the pickup truck filled with passengers, killing one person on the spot and leaving several others injured. Meanwhile, the driver fled the spot.
