Covid cases in India: India on Saturday reported 2,685 new Covid cases and 33 deaths over the previous 24 hours.
India on Saturday reported 2,685 new Covid cases over the previous 24 hours, 0.9% lower than Friday. The total caseload now stands at 4,31,50,215. As many as 33 Covid deaths were also reported in the country over the same period, taking the total reported fatality count to 5,24,572.
The top five states registering the maximum cases are Kerala with 723 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 536 cases, Delhi with 445 cases, Haryana with 236 cases, and Karnataka with 171 cases.
As much as 78.62% of the new patients were diagnosed in these five states, with Kerala alone being responsible for 26.93% of the new cases.
India is still maintaining a healthy recovery rate of 98.75%. A total of 2,158 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which took the total recoveries to 4,26,09,335 across the country.
India's active caseload on Saturday stood at 16,308. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 494.
On the vaccination front, India on Friday administered a total of 14,39,466 doses in the last 24 hours. So far, 1,93,13,41,918 vaccine doses have been administered in India.
A total of 4,65,840 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
