A 19-year-old college student was hacked to death by a stalker at Chintalacheruvu village in Badvel mandal on Friday evening. The victim, Sirisha, was a second year Intermediate student in a private college. According to her family members, she was being harassed by Charan from Rajupalem village in Atlur for the last one year. Charan recently learnt that Sirisha’s father was planning to get her married, which irked him.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
