The murder occurred while he was on his way to a coaching class and his family alleged that the murder happened at the insistence of a girl by her boyfriend and his associates.
The incident took place on KG Road in Arrah. The student, being identified as Sunny Kumar Singh, son of Upendra Kumar Singh, left home around 10 am to attend a mathematics coaching class.
On the day of the incident, Sunny left his residence around 10 am with a friend to attend a mathematics coaching class located on KG Road. According to family members, at around 10.50 am, Sunny called his cousin and informed him that he was with some people.
Later, at around 11.06 am, he called his sibling and said that a few youths had forcibly made him sit on a motorcycle and were taking him towards Garhani, alleging that they were plotting to kill him.
Soon after, his mobile phone was switched off.
