
17-year-old leopard dies in Vandalur zoo near Chennai

Jaya, a 17-year-old leopard, died in Vandaloor zoo, in Chengalpettu district of Chennai.
In a tragic turn of events, a 17-year-old leopard died in the Vandaloor zoo. The leopard named Jaya succumbed to death at the Vandaloor zoo, in Chengalpettu district on the outskirts of Chennai city.
Her death was confirmed by the Director of Vandaloor zoo, Karnapriya. He exclaimed that the postmortem report is awaited to understand the cause of death.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
