
17-year-old Jaipur boy arrested for raping, murdering minor

A 17-year-old boy in Rajasthan’s Jaipur was arrested by police for raping and murdering a 9-year-old girl. Police nabbed the accused and during interrogation, he admitted to killing the girl. Medical tests confirmed that she had been sexually abused before her death.
Jaipur Police arrested the 17-year-old son of a landlord for sexually abusing and murdering a 9-year-old minor girl in the city’s Amer area.
The girl's father, in his complaint to the police, had expressed that the girl was possibly raped before being killed by the accused. The shocking case came to light on Saturday, June 4, after a 9-year-old girl went missing.
A frantic search to find her started. Soon thereafter, the body of the girl was found in a dilapidated structure a few metres away from her home.
The police, during the search operations, found out that the landlord's 17-year-old-son had also gone missing. On conducting technical surveillance and search operations, his location was discovered.
During interrogation, the accused, according to the police, admitted to killing the girl.
The girl's father, in his complaint, had expressed apprehension about the girl being raped. However, the police waited for medical reports to establish whether the girl was sexually assaulted or not.
A case has been registered by the police under sections 302, 375 and relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
