“150 seats is our target in Karnataka, not one seat less. Hard work and merit will be the only factors in deciding candidates,” he said.
“Every single Congress worker and leader must exhibit tireless commitment in fighting for people’s issues and earning their trust,” he added.
“I congratulate every Karnataka Congress worker, volunteer and leader who has worked hard to enroll 60 lakh new Congress members. Most of them are young people. I am certain that this influx of young people will bring in new ideas and energy into the party. The party is upbeat,” Rahul Gandhi said.
In the last assembly election in the state in 2018, the Congress had won 80 seats while the BJP bagged 104. There are 224 seats in the state assembly and 113 is the majority mark.
