
137 colleges of five districts to come under Sardar Patel University in Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jairam Thakur on Monday gave approval for the establishment of a new Sardar Patel University in Mandi and Himachal Pradesh university in Shimla.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has given approval for the establishment of the new Sardar Patel University in Mandi, and Himachal Pradesh university, in Shimla. The decision was taken in a state cabinet meeting held on Monday.
The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to bring 137 colleges from five of the total-12 districts under the newly opened based Sardar Patel University (SPU) in Mandi.
The 165 colleges in the remaining seven districts would come under Shimla-based Himachal Pradesh University.
The cabinet also decided to fill up 200 posts of Ayurvedic Medical Officers in the Ayush Department. As per the information, these posts will be filled through direct recruitment, and remain on the basis of batches.
Apart from this, the government has also decided to fill 100 posts of Ayurvedic Pharmacists in the Ayush department on a contract basis.
Out of these, 52 posts will be filled through direct recruitment, and the remaining 48 on a batch basis.
The cabinet has also decided to increase the financial assistance being provided to the Cow Sanctuaries and Gau Sadans from the existing Rs 500 to Rs 700 per cow per month.
