
11 flats worth crores of Uddhav Thackeray’s brother-in-law attached by ED

The attached assets include 11 flats in Thane at a residential project that belongs to a firm owned and controlled by Uddhav Thackeray's brother-in-law Shridhar Madhav Patankar.
Eleven residential apartments worth Rs 6.45 crore in Maharashtra’s Thane, linked to a firm allegedly owned and controlled by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s brother-in-law Shridhar Madhav Patankar, were attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday in a money laundering case, officials told India Today TV.
The attachment has been made in connection with a money laundering case against Pushpak Bullion, one of the companies of the Pushpak Group which had allegedly given Rs 30 crore as unsecured loans to Shridhar Madhav Patankar’s firm Shree Saibaba Grihanirmiti Private Limited during the demonetization drive in November 2016.
The attached assets include 11 flats in Thane at Neelambari, a residential project that belongs to Shree Saibaba Grihanirmiti Pvt Ltd, owned and controlled by Shridhar Madhav Patankar.
The Enforcement Directorate had filed a money laundering case against Pushpak Bullion and other group companies on March 6, 2017, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The financial probe agency had earlier attached the movable and immovable properties of Pushpak Bullion, worth Rs 21.46 crore, belonging to Mahesh Patel, Chandrakant Patel, their family members and companies controlled by them.
According to the agency, Mahesh Patel allegedly siphoned off and layered the funds of Pushpak Realty, a firm under the Pushpak Group umbrella, in connivance with the accommodation entry provider Nandkishore Chaturvedi.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
