Salem district distributes ₹264.48 crore in loans to 1,928 entrepreneurs through streamlined single window system for approvals.
A total of ₹264.48 crore has been distributed in loans among 1,928 entrepreneurs in Salem district over the last four years, District Collector R. Brindha Devi said.
The Collector was participating in a Single Window Portal facilitation workshop for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and large industries in Salem and Dharmapuri districts held at a hotel in Mamangam on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Brindha Devi said that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin streamlined the process of obtaining permission from various government departments into a single window system to support upcoming businesses and entrepreneurs by enabling ease and transparency.
The single window portal allows businesses to easily secure necessary approvals, including no objection certificates, department-related approvals, renewals, and business licenses. Applicants can submit requests for 217 different approvals from various departments through this single window website: https://tnswp.com/DIGIGOV/. Registered applications will be reviewed within a specified timeframe under the Tamil Nadu Business Facilitation Act and Rules of 2018, and the appropriate approvals will be granted, the collector noted.
Also, a single window committee for MSMEs at the district level has been set up to monitor and expedite pending applications. In the past four years, the District Industries Centre (DIC) has provided loans totalling ₹264.48 crore, along with a subsidy of ₹77.34 crore to 1,928 entrepreneurs in Salem district, the Collector stated.
A demonstration of the single window system was held later, and clarification was provided on questions related to the system. In the workshop, Salem DIC general manager D. Sivakumar, officials from Guidance Tamil Nadu, Charles Rajkumar, Jothi Narayanan, Dinesh Pandyen, and Vikranth Sakthi, officials from concerned departments, and representatives from MSMEs and large industries participated.
