Zinedine Zidane resigned as Real Madrid manager last week after they finished a trophyless season for the first time in 11 years but the Frenchman claims he stepped down because the club lost faith in him.
Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane said that the lack of faith shown in him by the club led to his departure last week despite guiding the team to two La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies during his 2 coaching stints. The 2020-21 season however, didn't yield any silverware for the club for the first time in 11 years as they finished second in the Spanish league and were knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals. Real were also ousted from the Copa del Rey in the third round by minnows Alcoyano Zidane eventually decided to resign from his post as his side finished two points behind La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, with a total of 84, following a 2-1 victory over Villarreal.More Related News
