Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh: Nurul Hasan wants Bangladesh to be ‘smart’ and ‘sensible’ – We want to play our brand of cricket

Bangladesh are set to lock horns with Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series, which is set to get underway on Saturday, July 30,

Bangladesh T20I skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan admitted that his team lacks a genuine power-hitter, but also reckoned that the Tigers can taste success by playing smart and sensible cricket. On Saturday, July 30, Sohan’s men are set to lock horns with Zimbabwe in the first of the three T20Is at the Harare Sports Club.

Sohan was of the opinion that Bangladesh need to focus on their own strengths and play their own brand of cricket.

"We want to play our brand of cricket. Many teams are good at power hitting but if we can play smart and remain sensible and score boundaries instead of sixes there is a chance. We are not concerned about what other teams are doing as we want to create our own brand of cricket," Nurul was quoted as saying to the reporters.

The Tigers don’t have a number of their key players, including Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan, for the series. However, Sohan reckoned that the visitors aren’t devoid of experience.

"You cannot say we are inexperienced as most of the cricketers are playing for six to seven years and so I think we are quite experienced,'' he stated.

Sohan, who recently replaced Mahmudullah as the T20I skipper, understands the fact that Zimbabwe won’t be an easy opposition to beat in home conditions.

"We are well aware that we will be challenged but we are looking forward to it. You can say that this is a young team but we have not come here to learn, we want to win. The conditions are different but we cannot give that excuse," Nurul added.
