Yuzvendra Chahal reveals bullying by drunk player from IPL 2013: He hung me from 15th-floor balcony

Yuzvendra Chahal recalled his scary experience from IPL 2013, saying a 'drunk player' had hung him from the balcony on the 15th floor of their hotel. A section of fans have called for action against the player and his then franchise, Mumbai Indians.

Rajasthan Royals star Yuzvendra Chahal has shared a spine-chilling experience wherein he was bullied by a fellow cricketer during a post-game party in Bengaluru at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013. Chahal said he had a near-death experience and learnt an important lesson from that night.

Chahal, who played for Mumbai Indians in 2013, said he was hung from a balcony on the 15th floor of a hotel in Bengaluru by a 'drunk player'. Chahal said he had the narrowest of escapes and fainted when others came and helped him return to the room.

Chahal refused to reveal the name of the player, saying he understood the importance of being responsible from that episode.

Chahal had played for Mumbai Indians in 2013 before moving to Royal Challengers Bangalore at his base price of Rs 10 lakh. The leg-spinner went on to become an integral member of the RCB squad over the years before he was released in 2021. The India star moved to Rajasthan Royals ahead of the new season.

Speaking to R Ashwin in a video shared by the Royals, Chahal recalled the incident from 2013.

"I never told this story, from today everyone will know. I never shared this." Chahal said.

"This was from 2013 when I was with Mumbai Indians. We had a match in Bengaluru.
