YouTuber Savukku Shankar gets 6 months jail in contempt case

The Madras High Court has sentenced YouTuber Savukku Shankar to six months in jail in a contempt case.
Saying ‘the judiciary is riddled with corruption’ has landed YouTuber Savukku Shankar in jail for six months.
Justice GR Swaminathan and B Pugalenthi heard the duo Moro contempt case against Savukku Shankar and found him guilty.
Shankar, a former employee of the Tamil Nadu Vigilance department, was held guilty for claiming that the judiciary is riddled with corruption on the YouTube channel, Redpix.

After Savukku Shankar submitted his reply in Madras High Court Madurai Bench, the order was reserved.
The court also refused to put a stay on the order or to suspend Shankar’s sentence till he appeals the verdict in the Supreme Court.
The social media influencer has been under scrutiny for his older posts on social media, too.
