Yashpal Sharma played an important role in the revival of Sourav Ganguly's career as a national selector and was vocal against the then coach of the Indian cricket team Greg Chappell when the former India captain was left out of the team.
Former batsman Yashpal Sharma's name is forever etched in the history of Indian cricket for his batting heroics in the country's maiden World Cup triumph in 1983 but he also played a very important role in reviving the career of Sourav Ganguly as a national selector. Yashpal was the national selector between 2003 and 2006 when Indian cricket was going through an uneasy phase. At the time when Greg Chappell-led conflict in Team India was dominating the scenes, Sharma supported Sourav Ganguly over the then coach and helped in the revival of the current BCCI president's international career.More Related News
