Yankees, Mets have same MLB trade deadline priority — and plenty of opinions
NY Post
The Yankees and Mets are both prioritizing pitching, particularly bullpen help, as the trade deadline approaches, and fortune is in their corners. In quite a rarity, the generous supply may nearly equal the usual demand.
Both buyers and sellers may figure they hold the advantage, which may be why almost everyone is waiting around. So far, only two deals have involved relievers — both from the Orioles, who traded Gregory Soto to the Mets and Seranthony Domínguez to the Blue Jays.
“It’s going to go down to the wire,” one GM predicts.
There are close to 20 legit back-end relievers being discussed in deals, and one NL scout ranked the top 10 this way: 1. Jhoan Duran, 2. Cade Smith, 3. Dennis Santana, 4. Ryan Helsley, 5. David Bednar, 6. Pierce Johnson, 7. Kyle Finnegan, 8. Phil Maton, 9. Raisel Iglesias, 10. Griffin Jax.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
