DETROIT — For all their firepower, the Yankees typically leave themselves almost no margin for error.
That was true again on Friday night — and it cost them. After failing to come through with runs in the top of the ninth, when they were set up to break the game open, they still found themselves a strike away from a victory. That’s when the struggling Justin Wilson gave up a two-run, game-winning homer to Robbie Grossman in a 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Tigers at Comerica Park.
