India captain Virat Kohli was left annoyed after an umpire's review of caught behind appeal against him despite no signal from the New Zealand team in the ongoing World Test Championship final at the Rose Bowl on Saturday. Funny umpiring there with Virat. No decision given by the umpire and it automatically became a review.Tuning in to the Women’s test match for the time being , hoping for Harman and Punam to save the Test match. Umpire haven't given out so why they went for checking catch. ??@ICC @BCCI #WTCFinal2021#INDvNZ #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/8vgzZdBCUB The incident happened in the 41st over of India’s innings when New Zealand pacer Trent Boult appealed for a caught behind that went down the leg side. The bowling end umpire Richard Illingworth consulted the striker end umpire Michael Gough after he was unsure that the wicketkeeper BJ Watling had taken Kohli's catch cleanly. After much discussion, they decided to take an umpire’s review, checking with the third umpire. An umpire’s review is different from a player’s review, as the name suggests. Kohli was seen asking the umpires and suggesting he thought they were only going to check if it carried cleanly to the keeper. Umpire Illingworth did tell him something to which Kohli smiled.More Related News
