WTC Final: Rohit Sharma was compact, will be disappointed with timing of his dismissal- VVS Laxman

Former India batsman VVS Laxman heaped rich praise on Rohit Sharma who looked solid in his 34-run knock and gave India a good start on Saturday in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand.
Former batsman VVS Laxman was full of praises for Rohit Sharma, saying the Mumbai batter put on a wonderful display of caution and aggression in the first session of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand pacers. Laxman said that Rohit 'the opener' passed with flying colours and was compact in his 34-run knock but he will be disappointed with the way and the timing of his dismissal. Put in to bat under an overcast sky, Rohit added a solid 62-run opening stand with Shubman Gill before New Zealand eventually dismissed both to leave the session evenly balanced. Sharma looked solid from the start and Gill, barring a hit, looked at absolute ease facing the Kiwi bowlers. Rohit, having made a fluent 34, left his bat hanging and Tim Southee dived to his right to grab the outside edge at third slip off Kyle Jamieson. Neil Wagner was introduced late in the session and the left-arm quick struck in his first over, dismissing Gill caught behind for 28.More Related News
