WTC Final: Rishabh Pant is extremely dangerous, tough player to stop - New Zealand bowling coach Jurgensen
India Today
New Zealand bowling coach Shane Jurgensen said the team is aware of what Rishabh Pant managed to do in recent Tests against Australia and England. India take on New Zealand in the World Test Championship final, starting June 18.
New Zealand bowling coach Shane Jurgensen has said they are wary of Rishabh Pant's ability to take the game from the opposition in no time. Jurgensen said New Zealand are wary of the impact that the India wicketkeeper-batsman has been able to have while batting in the middle-order for the World No. 1 Test side. Shane Jurgensen, who has been instrumental in helping groom the current crop of New Zealand bowlers, however, believes Pant's positive approach will bring opportunities for the bowling team. The Australian tactician, who has been with the New Zealand squad in Southampton, said he would want his bowlers to stay calm and execute their plans well against Pant. Pant was not able to find a place in the India side until the 2nd Test against Australia in Melbourne earlier this year. He had replaced Wriddhiman Saha after India lost the first Test in Adelaide and turned out to be the match-winner for India Down Under. After hitting a quick 97 that helped swing the momentum in India's favour in the drawn Sydney Test, Pant's heroic 89 not out helped India win the 4th Test and breach Australia's Gabba fortess.More Related News
